the business, legal, and allied health fields, with emphasis on

All students at Harris School of Business must have a high school diploma or
a GED equivalent. Beyond that, Harris School of Business seeks students who
have a true desire to apply themselves toward succeeding in their
chosen career path. The programs at Harris School of Business are compact and
intensive. Through completion of a short-term training program at
our institution, students can develop confidence and a foundation
for life-long learning through on-the-job training or going on to
college for higher education.

An intensive, hands-on training program in which experienced
workers develop keyboarding skills, and proficiency is using
Microsoft Office®, Word®, Excel®, Access®,
PowerPoint®, Outlook®, and the Windows® operating
system. A career preparation course enhances the student's
traditional and internet job search skills to build confidence
for making the transition from school to employment in the
business or professional setting.

Legal office support professionals with specialized training in
legal terminology, legal office procedures, and legal document
preparation are prepared to make a valuable contribution to the
legal office team. This program teaches legal specialty skills,
along with extensive hands-on training in word processing,
spreadsheet, database, presentation, and file management
programs. In addition, students will develop knowledge of
proofreading and writing skills, math problem solving, legal
transcription and professional office procedures. Through
completion of a career preparation course and a supervised
externship in a legal office setting, students will develop
traditional and Internet job search skills designed to build
confidence for handling the transition from school to a career in
legal office support.

The newly revised program prepares student for positions in
medical billing and medical secretarial fields. Along with
specialized Allied Health training, students develop
administrative assistant skills and computer literacy in
Microsoft Office programs through extensive hands-on training.
All students in the program complete an Internship in a hospital
or physicians' office setting.

a career in health information technology.

This is an intensive, highly computer-oriented program, which
appeals to the student who wants a career in the accounting
field. Students learn accounting principles along with a variety
of software programs, with an emphasis on computerized accounting
applications. The program includes an introduction to payroll
procedures and a review of business letter writing.
The Computerized Accounting Technology program is targeted at
individuals with good basic skills and math aptitude who seek to
enter or re-enter employment in an accounting-related position.
