Southwestern College is committed to the educational and personal enrichment of our students. Each program is designed to help qualify the student for the entry-level employment requirements of industry, government, allied health and business offices.
We train students in basic skills and real-world techniques which can help prepare them for future employment. We strive to develop student attitudes and habits that can help lead to promotion and success. We teach students to meet and adjust to the ever-changing conditions of the growing business and health care industries.
Accreditation
Fully accredited by the Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), it is the philosophy of Southwestern College to establish and maintain standards that will foster the training, advancement, welfare and best interest of our students.
Accounting
Southwestern College's diploma and associate's degree* in accounting programs are designed to assist students in achieving a basic understanding of accounting skills as well as an overview of supervision and management capabilities are provided.
The computerized program trains students to obtain beginning skills in bookkeeping or accounting where skills include practical computer applications in:
- Payroll
- Opening and closing books
- Inventory
- Financial statements
Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared for an entry-level accounting positions such as:
- Bookkeeper
- Accounts receivable
- Payable clerk
- Payroll clerk
