Indiana Business College is a postsecondary, proprietary
educational institution. Founded as a single campus in 1902, the
college has grown to 11 on-ground campuses across the state of
Indiana. We have an online division and a new culinary division,
The Chef's Academy. We currently offer more than 20 programs of
study for our students in the categories of business, medical,
information technology, criminal justice, and culinary arts. The
Indiana Business College campus is located at 550 East Washington
Street. Our new urban campus was designed to honor the 100-year
history of IBC and to convey our progressive vision of tomorrow.
Indiana Business College is accredited by the Accrediting Council
for Independent Colleges and Schools to award certificates,
diplomas and associate of applied science degrees.
The accounting assistant program covers basic bookkeeping,
computerized accounting and beginning accounting theory. It
prepares students for entry-level positions in billing, accounts
payable or receivable, and bookkeeping. Upon completing this
program, students may transfer all earned credits toward the
Accounting Associate of Applied Science degree.

are included to enhance preparation for the clerical work many
office assistants are expected to handle. After completion of
this program, students may transfer all earned credits toward the

general accounting. Graduates are prepared for positions in
private business, public accounting and government. The program

designed to enhance the effectiveness of one's ability to plan,

Associate's - Property and Casualty Claims

This program is designed to train students how to perform as part
of an insurance claims team. Students will be trained to review,
adjust, evaluate, deny, settle, process and resolve claims. The
program will focus on communication skills including electronic,
telephone and in person with agents, employers, claimants,
policyholders, attorneys, and associated groups to gather
essential information on contested claims.
Training will also be provided in analysis and investigative
skills essential for claims adjusters to examine property claims,
worker's compensation and bodily injury claims cases. Students
will be prepared to sit for AIC insurance designation exams.
Employment opportunities include insurance companies, private
adjusting firms and consulting companies.

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting program provides students
with an understanding of theory and applications related to an
accounting environment, including training in the areas of
performance analysis, budgeting, managing controls, taxation and
auditing. The Bachelor of Science in Accounting prepares
professionals for jobs in private businesses, government or
nonprofit agencies and public accounting firms. The program has
been developed as a completion program for students who have
graduated from an accredited associate degree program in
accounting, or a related area, or who have earned college credit
equivalent to such a degree. Additional coursework may be
required in order to meet the prerequisites of the courses
included in the accounting program."

The Business Management Bachelor's degree provides business
students with a thorough understanding of theory and application
related to the business environment. Students will be able to
collect and analyze data, identify alternative solutions and
select the most appropriate course of action for specific
business problems.
The program seeks to develop knowledge and skills in research,
critical thinking, problem-solving and current technology for
application and use in communication, data collection/analysis
and solving business problems. Students will also be provided
with an understanding of professional ethics and its application
to the business environment.
The program has been developed as a completion program for
students who have graduated from an accredited associate's degree
program in a related area, or who have earned college credit
equivalent to such a degree.
